Marco Angelini

Marco Angelini

Artist - Italy

He is interested in urban phenomena, cultures and (above all) sub-cultures that are created in the metropolis of the world. His expressive research is dominated by matter. Sometimes materials become the pictorial surface replacing the canvas, other times they are recycled materials that become part of the work.
It deals with different phases of research that often carries on simultaneously: art and nature, time and memory, interreligious dialogue and dimension of the "sacred", art and science. It also expresses different interpretations on environmental issues.
The abstract form perfectly interprets his fluid and changeable poetics that suggest the existence of multiple realities.
He strongly believes that art can play a decisive social role: that of generating attention and thus creating new opportunities for sharing, communication and questioning.
Angelini’s works are part of several private collections, including that of the Fondazione Roma. He has made several solo exhibitions in Rome, Milan, Warsaw, Krakow, London, Bratislava, Algiers and participated in collective exhibitions in New York, Washington DC, Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Warsaw, Zamość, Szczecin, Munich, Essen, London, Brussels, Rome, Lucca.
