I believe that, after years in which the practice of painting was considered impossible and given for dead, trying to reassert its possibility has paradoxically become necessary. I try to create a work that has its own raison d'être in itself but does not fall into self-reference and formalism. In this painting, various fragments of images are superimposed on the background of an atmospheric landscape, more evoked than real, as if to create new margins of meaning from the void.
